SVI Charity Golf Day 2024 – Good times as par as the eye can see

105 golfers swung for science in the 15th annual SVI Charity Golf Day at Kew Golf Club on the 24th of May. Despite the chilly conditions the competition was fiery, with only 2.5 strokes separating first and second place.

After a shotgun start, the 18-hole competition was played in an Ambrose format with teams of 4. Once the sun began to set,  our weary golfers were serenaded by bag pipes back to the club house, to be greeted by a sampling of whiskey and a light dinner before entertainment commenced.

Thanks to the amazing support from our sponsors, we raised $100,000 to fund research that seeks to cure some of Australia’s most prevalent diseases, including cancer, type 1 diabetes and heart disease.

“The Golf Day is one of the most highly anticipated events in our fundraising calendar,” said SVI Director Tom Kay. “We are very grateful to the sponsors, players, volunteers and staff who make this incredible day possible.”
